The diamonds on this ring are big enough that the ring looks nice on its own, as well as paired with an engagement ring. (I haven’t decided if I’m ready to part with the engagement ring yet, but if you’re interested, let me know and I can send you pictures.)
First, I bought my own wedding band. (And he never got me a real center diamond in my engagement ring – it was a CZ.) Since we were living in England, but I was earning in the U.S., he said I should spend my $ in the U.S. so we didn’t get penalized by exchange rates.
As soon as we moved to San Francisco, everything really fell apart. He didn’t want a marriage – wanted his space all the time, would work until 8 or 9 most nights so he didn’t have to be at home with me. We never combined finances and he earned far more than me, but everything had to be split equally. Most of the time he was miserable around me and would constantly criticize me.
The final straw (after so many arguments all the time, constant tension and a complete absence of intimacy) was that I realized he was never going to be clear on whether he wanted to have children, which has always been something I wanted in my life.
I’ve moved out and am about to start the divorce after being separated for almost 2 years. Hopeful that I can find someone who appreciates me and shares my vision for life.
Start to pay down my credit card bill that I racked up paying for our wedding and furnishing a home and paying for our first months’ rent in San Francisco (which he made me do).
