This is a small diamond right purchased overseas, in a small town known as Santa Cruz, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. It is 18K gold. Hasn’t been cleaned in a while but the size of the diamond gives it a unique and sentimental touch.
I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Costa Rica. I was leaving the country for good after 2.5+ years of service and the boyfriend at the time decided to propose and I said yes. He was poor. Earned less than a dollar a day working in agriculture and I was the dreamer that thought all could be possible. With the income he earned to paint the elementary school, he bought this ring for 80,000 colones which is the equivalent of USD$160. Fast-forward, I moved to the U.S. in November 2012. When he moved to the U.S. in March 2013, we got married in April. We got divorced in October 2015 and cannot feel and be better. Everything happens for a reason.
I bounced back a long time ago girls! It took me 6 months to get back in my feet and understand the single life that I hated. But, I finally found a boyfriend that is so different from my ex-husband and cannot wait to get to know him more to see where things go…
