Diamond Promise Ring

My best friend introduced to me one of his surfer friends that he met while he lived in a hostal in Oaxaca, this friend and I, we had a very passionate and cool story, we started writing to each other for a year until we met, he lives in the States works 6 months shifts at the oil fields and surfs 6 months in Oaxaca. Im from Mexico City and as always and in many love stories timing is not the best! We had an interesting age difference to begin with, he was 45 and I was 27, he is a veteran Ranger and I am a Psychologist it was a good match and we fell in madly in love… it seemed to be great but we wanted different things in life, with a different timing and a different course so we decided to take separate ways, after a year of being in a relationship, on his last visit he gave me this ring as a promise of love and he proposed, he said it was the last chance and I said no, he knew I would say no but he said he couldn’t live by “what if” so I tried to give him the ring back and he didn’t accept it, he said “sell it! Use it to pay for school or your bills”. It’s never been worn, and I beleive it has good vibes, you know? There is a kind of “The Notebook” story behind, if Nicholas Sparks knew about this story he would write a book about it! Lol, I do thinks so, but trust me, this was not an awful break up, this was something based on destiny, on coincidence, on true and spontaneous love.
