I’m selling...

This was originally given to me as a birthday gift. I wore it once, it’s very clean and in great condition. I broke up with my ex shortly after receiving it, and it’s been shoved in the back of my nightstand drawer ever since. This is a smoke free home. This is a Kay Jewelers necklace. It’s sterling silver. The item is currently out of stock on their website, but here is their official description: “A sparkling 1/15 carat round diamond is wrapped in a teardrop of sterling silver in this classic and irresistible necklace for her. Suspended from an 18″ box chain with 2″ extender for added versatility. Secured by a spring ring clasp. Love’s Embrace. You will always be surrounded by the strength of my love.” Since it was a gift, I am not 100% sure on the original cost of the necklace. With the item being out of stock on the Kay website, I also cannot check at the moment.

Because...

My ex and I were in a relationship for three years with plans to get married. I really thought that I was head over heels in love, and that nothing could ever shatter the happiness that I felt. Being young and naive really can crush someone! The longer we were together, the more he drank and began to rely on my income to pay our rent, our bills, his bar tabs, etc. One night when I was out of town, he got a DUI. I thought that might be the rock bottom that he needed, but I was wrong. He drank more, partied more, would even take my car after I had gone to bed to drive out to the bars to meet his friends for drinks. The more I tried to support the idea of getting sober, the more he drank, and the more verbally abusive he became. One night he came home from the bar (drunk of course) and took his anger out on me physically. That was the last straw. I walked away in 2011 and felt broken for a long time.

My bounce back plan is...

I purchased my first home, and I’ve gotten married. If this sells, it will go toward our student loan payments.
