So we were engaged, like together 7 years and engaged 2 years, and he started getting weird. Abusive, cagey about his phone, angsty, and he would always be “going to his sisters” or constantly drinking beer. Well I never had a reason to doubt him so when he says “I feel emotionally unavailable” and “I think I’m depressed” I believe him. However, just before new years he dumps me, throws me out of OUR house, the one WE bought, and says “I love you like a sister.” WHAT? LIKE A SISTER! You might say. Uh, yeah. His words. Anyways, so I’m back at my parents house thinking he needs time to sort himself out when I find out that literally days after the break up hes at our local shopping precinct with some chick. Couple of days later, he’s back at the movies. Then he was busted by my best friend. What made this all worse is that he changed the locks on the house so I couldn’t even get all my things! 4 months on and I’m fighting for a fair share of the house settlement and I finally got my things back. The time apart has also made me realise how much of a possessive, alcoholic and abusive douche he really was.
Long story short: don’t say yes to the guy that puts you down in a compliment and limits you. You’ll end up doing everything for him and then watching him walk away with a older woman who looks like his mother.
