We had moved in together the year before, got a dog, and started building the foundation of a life together. He got offered a job in another state. It would be about a month after I graduated from a Masters program. He told me he wanted me to come, asked me to withdraw job applications, put my two weeks in, and prepare “our” house to sell. One week later it turns out, he wasn’t really ready to make such a big commitment and told me he didn’t want me to come. 2 years down the drain waiting for someone to give what I gave to a relationship. Good riddance!
