#Treatyoself this Holiday Season

The holiday season has arrived and with it has come, as it does every year, the mile-long lists of gifts you have to buy. While it feels great to splurge on the perfect present for your best friend or spend hours crafting the perfect gift for your mom, it’s important that you don’t forget to make time for a little self-care. The holidays are stressful—secret santas, parental dinners, the looming thought of your depleting bank account. In the spirit of giving, here’s a list of gift ideas just for you this holiday. Go on, you know you want to.

A New Bra and Panties

If you’re anything like me, a matching set of undergarments can make it feel like all the haphazard pieces of your life are finally coming together. If you’re looking for comfort, go out and buy yourself that cute bralette and some cotton hipsters. Want to spice things up a bit? Splurge on some new lingerie. You’ll feel sexy and confident and ready to conquer anything these holidays throw at you.

Professionally Done Eyebrows

Nothing makes me feel more powerful than sleek, defined eyebrows. They’re magic, I tell you. If you’ve been plucking away at those stray hairs for the last several months, not feeling like you should splurge, now is the time. Hit up the Brow Bar and let those beautiful eyebrow pixies transform you. And while you’re at it, buy yourself some new makeup—you deserve it.

A New Book

This is my ultimate go-to when I want to treat myself. Books scream relaxation to me; my favorite place is submerged in lavender bubble bath with a book and no obligations beating at my door for at least an hour or two. If you’ve been hoarding a list of to-be-read books, you have my permission to cross at least one of them off this Christmas. Pick up your favorite at your local bookstore and let it transport you somewhere else for a little while. It will do wonders for your stress levels!

And if you want a book, but are not sure what to read next, I recommend picking up “Sweetbitter” by Stephanie Danier. If you like food, romance, coming-of-age, or just a really good story, you’ll love it.

A New Set of Bedsheets

There is just something about fresh sheets that screams comfort, like you’re suddenly on vacation and you’ve just checked yourself into a 4-star hotel. If you’re looking for an easy way to relieve stress, buy yourself some new sheets. They can be simple and cotton, or you can go for satin if you’re looking for something more luxurious. Just imagine coming home after a long day at work and crawling into your own personal cloud. It’s worth it.

A Movie Date for One

This holiday season, go out, show yourself the city and splurge on dinner and a movie. Don’t be afraid to sit in your favorite restaurant alone. Order your favorite meal and spend some quality time with yourself—bring that new book you bought! Then go see something you’ve been dying to see. Superheroes (“Doctor Strange” was amazing!), a romance (Shemar Moore is looking dreamy in “The Bounce Back”), or maybe the newest Disney Princess (“Moana” was beautiful and empowering). Whatever it is, treat yourself to a night that’s all about celebrating and giving back to you.
