A few years ago, researchers at McGill University in Montreal conducted a study on music’s effect on the brain, and found evidence that suggests that music improves both mental and physical health, by boosting the immune system (crazy, right?!) and reducing the levels of stress hormone cortisol. In short, music is therapeutic, as I’m sure most people have already guessed (some songs demand to be blasted in the car!), but did you know that certain songs are more potent than others during a specific time in your life? Take a break-up, for example, which is a complex spectrum of emotions. Some people may only fall on one place and be done with it, but others may go through all six-stages before they’re fully recovered. The key is to know where you’re at, so you can do the most good through your choice of music! More often than not, it’ll come naturally what music you know makes you feel better at the time, but in case you need some suggestions, check out our playlist below that’ll keep all of your bases covered during such a crazy time. After all, Bob Marley (the king of good vibes) did say, “One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.”
