Say it with me. This shit is bananas! B-A-N-A-N-A-S! We’re not sure what’s going on this summer that’s causing so many celebrity breakups (is it global warming? IDK), but we’ve all definitely been noticing the past month that there’s been a spike in breakups between couples we’ve all grown to love watching love each other.
One of the more recent breakups to break our hearts lately is that of Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale. Their names even sound cute together—Gwen and Gavin. That alliteration. The rhyming. So poetic. Well, this one turns out to be a tragedy after a 20 year relationship and an almost 13 year marriage. These two even had a “meet cute” story of how they met—while touring together and having their first “date” in New Orleans. Now it seems all those hurricanes have finally caught up to them.
Since this couple has decided to call it quits, we always like to speculate on what items they might want to sell after the split. Here’s our list of this couples’ breakup baggage.
- Gwen’s retainer. Ok, we all saw her style with those braces—obvi she’s been wearing her retainer nightly to keep those pearly whites together! She’ll at least need a new retainer case, because who wants to look at the one that always laid on the nightstand in their shared bedroom?!
- The Voice episode where they collaborated. This wasn’t all too long ago. We’re sure they must’ve saved a copy of this particular episode where the duo worked together. Maybe they can keep it for the kids…
- Gwen’s wedding dress. The two had two weddings—one in London, and then one in Los Angeles weeks later. Stefani had confessed it was mostly because she badly wanted to wear her custom-made John Galliano wedding dress again. We doubt she’ll want to wear it anymore.
- Plaid Collection. So much plaid. Plaid jackets. Bags. Hats. Cars. Mugs. Flatscreens. You name it, they plaided it.
- Old 90’s photos together. Do it for us. That hair. The makeup. The outfits.
Gwen herself has previously stated, “”We go through so much together – it’s a miracle that we could stay together this long.” Well, we’re just hoping for some heartbreak inspired music from these two. “Could have been easier on you/I couldn’t change though I wanted to.” Oh Gavin. Your words cut even more now.
