When was the last time you did something for yourself? I mean really did something for yourself, not just using an old gift card for a new shirt (that you’re not really married to, besides it’s sale price), or using built-up rewards points at ULTA for a lip color that you know will never work on you, no matter how badly you want it to. You’re really not doing yourself any favors, imagining what could be, but never will be.
However, there’s a bright side (and lighter shade of that lipstick, thank goodness) to this story, and that’s that there are so many products out there that work for any and every type of woman, and really offer a little extra of something so many women find themselves deficient in: confidence. Because when it comes down to it, you are beautiful, worthy, and so totally deserve it. But for those of you that do tend to search the clearance rack (guilty!), these items have that luxury feel without the luxury cost.
1. LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics- Bath Bombs- $3.95 to $6.95
LUSH is a company I really love, not only for their vegan and inventive ingredients, but because there are quite a few products that they make absolutely no profit on. They just genuinely want women to have nice skin. Try the Sex Bomb- it’s soy milk will moisturize while it’s jasmine and sage will leave you feeling sexy, a true reflection of your inner goddess. At less than ten dollars, these are really affordable too, so as the british say, there’s really no reason to “splash out” (especially not out of the tub!).
2. Beauty Chic Facial Sauna- ULTA- $24.99
When detoxing- whether it be from the cheese fries you swore you wouldn’t eat last night, or from all the people that have ever done you wrong- it’s important to remember to get into those pores, too! Tea is great, but steam is better. I like this facial sauna because it’s simple to use, has two different cones to choose from, and comes with a free cucumber mask! Ex-boyfriends are no match to water vapor.
3. Baublebar- Emma Roberts’ Collection- $28-$68
This collection of jewelry, designed by the powerful American Horror Story witch herself, is the epitome of femininity and grace. Some of the larger pieces are pricier, but you can’t put a price on the sophistication you will feel wearing these pieces. If you’re one of those people that buys a bunch of jewelry but never gets around to wearing it, like me, you’ll definitely make it your New Years’ Resolution to sport these pieces.
So go ahead, really do something for yourself. But if not for that, do it for all the people that’ll regret they ever let you go.
