Lunch With Carolyn Scott-Hamilton
A few weeks ago, I sat down for a lovely birthday lunch for the wonderful Leslie Durso. I had the good fortune of sitting next to the unstoppable Carolyn Scott-Hamilton. She’s a foodie, a traveller and has combined both her passions to create the hugely popular and hugely awesome show Healthy Voyager. She shares recipes, travel tips, food and lifestyle tips… and all in a way that makes you want to join in the fun. She’s charismatic, energetic and is shaking all the stuffiness out of the world of wellness! Here’s what she had to say about matters of the heart!
What do you do and why do you do it?
I’m TV Host/Media Personality, Holistic Nutritionist, Plant Based Foods Chef, Cookbook Author, Speaker & Consultant. I do it because I love helping people and proving that healthy living is fun!
What’s the best gift you ever got?
My engagement ring. And then, my hubby is an artist, and he drew me a fabulous children’s book type illustration of me and my fur babies ; )
What’s the worst gift you ever got?
Cake mix that was long since expired!
What’s you advice for all things love, sex and dating?
My fave tip is to throw your “list” of requirements out the window! You never know who your person will be, they show up when you least expect it and you who least expect it to be. If you stick to a list, you may miss the person who you should be with because he/she didn’t meet your requirements. Any many people hold on so much to their list but they have never found that perfect match and that’s because that perfect person, on paper, doesn’t exist. No one is perfect, open yourself up and you’ll be surprised how incredible someone off-list can be!
What’s your go to pick me up?
Lattes! Or a Moscow Mule!
Tell us about your first heartbreak…
Jeez, that was probably high school. My boyfriend at the time had been a bit “disloyal” and I’d never experienced that before. It hurt like a bitch. But what’s funny is, we were terrible together, as a couple, but have been best friends ever since, he’s like my brother! Good things can come out of bad situations ; )
– Tell us about a time you Bounced Back better than ever. You know, I was always pretty good at bouncing back. I savored my single time by hanging out with friends and doing fun things, taking time for me. And I never shunned anyone due to a previous situation because each relationship is separate and new, I never put up a wall or went in too cautious because the last guy was a totally different perso and there was no need to punish myself or the new guy because of it ; )
