This week’s question comes to us from Miss Brows and the conundrum around coloring them. If you’re thinking about jumping on the bandwagon, hear what Angelique has to say!
Q: It seems like coloring in your eyebrows is becoming a trend right now. I’m not sure I’m on-board yet (as I typically don’t adopt new trends immediately), but if I do decide to give it a try, what’s the right way to color them? How do I find the right color?
A: Brows are HUGE right now! I personally like to match brow color with hair color, but it all depends on preference. For me, I highlight my hair, so my hair color is lighter than it naturally would be. Normally I like to keep my brows the same color as my died hair, so I actually go lighter in color with my brow products. When I like to look a bit more dramatic I will darken them up and match the roots of my hair. The cool thing about this trend is that you can play around! You don’t have to be married to a certain color. Also, if you just want to groom your brows and keep them in place without adding color you can simply use a clear brow gel to brush them up and over. This will give the appearance of fuller brows without making them look more dramatic. My biggest rule is less is more, especially when it comes to brows. Just add product where you have sparse or missing hairs. Overall if you don’t want them too structured go with a lighter color, if you want them to stand out a bit more go darker. My personal favorite product is the brow pencils from MAC. I love to use Lingering if I am going lighter and Spiked if I want to go a bit darker. Trends are fun, play with them and see what works for you! Good luck!
