This week’s question comes to us from Miss Prime Time and is about good ol’ primer. What’s it really all about anyway?!
Miss Prime Time’s Question: What is the purpose of primer? When is the best time to use it and not to? Does it really make a difference?
Angelique’s Answer: Primer creates a smooth surface for your makeup and allows it to last longer. I prefer to use it when I want my makeup to last all day. For example if I have an event or if I am going out at night, that’s when I will use it. If I am not wearing too much makeup or I am just throwing on a tinted moisturizer, for example for the beach, I will skip it. I honestly find that it does make a difference. I use it on myself and on clients all of the time and it really does help make the makeup last longer. Not only that, but I feel that it shows the true pigment of the makeup when used. I feel as though I use less product than without. One of my favorites to use is Smashbox Photo Finish primer. A drop goes a very long way and it creates such a smooth surface! The best thing to do is experiment. You can always go to the counters like Sephora and Department Stores to get a sample and see what works for you! Have fun!
