Little Miss Mascara’s Question: What’s the difference between waterproof mascara and non-waterproof — wouldn’t you always want to wear waterproof?
Angelique’s Answer: I LOVE mascara, in fact I would call myself a mascara junkie. I however, can not stand waterproof mascara. The plus side to waterproof mascara is exactly what it says, it is resistant to water, crying, etc.– however I do feel as though it is very harsh on your lashes. Not only that, it is not build able. After a mere two coats it starts to flake and fall off of the lashes. I like to apply 4-5 coats of mascara on each eye, so for me I don’t really like using it. As an alternative I like using regular mascara and building up the coats. If your eyes are constantly watering or you feel as though you are going to be crying (like at a wedding, etc.) make sure to dab, not wipe your eyes or face. This will prevent the mascara from running. Also, if you feel as though you can’t live without using waterproof, try building up your lashes using regular mascara and then sealing the top layer with a waterproof mascara. If my clients request it, my go-to is the Makeup Forever Aqua Smoky lash. Good luck!!
