If you haven’t seen the 2011 rom-com and instant girl’s night classic Bridesmaids, starring a plethora of SNL’s best lady comedians, you haven’t lived. It’s two hours chocked full of witty one-liners, slapstick comedy, and the best performances of the likes of Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, and Melissa McCarthy. To top it all off, the whole film revolves around all the trials and tribulations of female friendship and finding love, something mostly everyone can relate to. Girlfriends…can’t live with them, but can’t live without them. Here are 8 things Bridesmaids taught us about friendship, and why it’s all worth the trouble in the end!

4. A real friendship is one where you can be completely, 100% honest.

5. And also, unapologetically you. (Unfortunately for some).

6. Sometimes, when a new friend enters the picture, things can get messy.

7. Especially if this is during the time when one of you is about to get married. Weddings are like full moons: they bring out the crazies.

8. But in the end, if the friendship is true, you’ll always have each other’s backs.
