We’ve been dating since fall of 2011 and went to the same university and were in the same circle of friends. We’ve befriended each other’s families (even extended) and lost our virginities to each other. We’ve been talking about staying together after college and 6 months ago we agreed we were going to make this work. He moved cross-country for a job, and suddenly he doesn’t want me moving to the same city to be with him because that means he’s obligated to marry me (which he said before he wanted to do). Anyway, the breakup isn’t final yet but it’s going to be. Best love of my life so far but wasting 3 years on “just dating” is a mistake I’m never going to make again. Didn’t realize he’d never thought about seriously even getting married to me, even though he talked about it a few times. What a disappointment.
